Duva is threatening lawsuits & Sam Peter is furious . Everybody wants to know what the WBC will do.
So what did Pound4Pound.com do?
We contacted
WBC
President
Jose
Sulaiman and
let him
detail what
will happen
in the next
Chapter of
The finale has not been written yet but it looks like the moral of the story is clear, the WBC, which stands to collect huge sanctioning fees from a proposed Vitali-Maskaev fight in Moscow, is giving the Vitali bid a serious look, and a vote by the board will decide Peter's fate.
Check out Jose’s exclusive letter to Pound4pound.com:
Dear Mr. Trillo : We are putting it to the consideration of the Board of Governors , some of the precedents are : Samuel Peter refused to fight as a final eliminator for the WBC and decided to go and fight for the IBF title instead , Stepping out of the WBC´s heavyweight tournament. He lost to Wladimir Klitschko in that IBF fight.
Thus, the
WBC included
in the
tournament
Rahman ,
Owen Beck,
Monte Barret
, James
Toney, Oleg
Maskaev ,
and Samil
Sam, With
the winners
being Rahman
, Maskaev
and Toney. |
In the interim Toney requested to fight Samuel Peter not to be inactive ; the WBC did not approve it originally for 12 rounds as in a 10 rounder if Toney lost to Peter , that would have been the end of the situation, but finally the WBC approved a 12 round elimination bout , which was won by Peter , but because of the controversy, the WEBC ordered a rematch , which Peter won clearly , gaining the official challenger recognition, After the announcement that Vitaly was returning to boxing to reclaim the title that he didn’t lose in the ring, and based on a WBC rule that gives a returning champion with world recognition the opportunity to fight for the title when he returns , the WBC after seeing that there is no agreement between the parties, is following its rules by sending the matter to its Board of Governors or seeking any other step as indicated in the rules. Best regards ,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, José Sulaimán Jose Sulaiman Ch. President
Look’s like The WBC & Vitali have more than one healthy leg to stand on here and it seems only a miracle will stop the WBC Board from clearing the way for Vitali to take on Oleg in Russia in a fight that should not only bring a huge gate, but a pretty hefty sanctioning fee as well.
